How long does a domain transfer take?
Most gTLD transfers (.com, .net, .org, .io, .app, etc.) complete in 5–7 days. If you approve the confirmation email right away, it can finish in as little as 1–2 days.
Will my website or email go down during the transfer?
No. Your DNS, website and email keep running exactly as they do today. Nameservers only change if you choose to update them at Host Tonic.
How much does a transfer cost?
You pay the standard 1-year renewal price for the TLD — and we add a full extra year to your registration on top of your remaining time.
What's an EPP or auth code?
It's a domain-specific password that authorises the transfer. Every registrar has a slightly different name for it (EPP code, auth code, transfer code) but they all mean the same thing. You'll find it in your current registrar's domain settings.
Which domains can't be transferred?
ICANN rules block transfers for domains under 60 days old, domains recently transferred, or domains flagged for legal disputes. Some ccTLDs (like .de or .uk) use their own transfer process — we walk you through it in-flow.
Can I transfer multiple domains at once?
